BOB MARONGIU
WHO IS BOB?
Bob (Roberto Marongiu) was born in Switzerland on the 13th November, 1966 to Sardinian parents.
Qualified on foreign languages, he studied Scene arts, wrote poems and sung songs. Painting has become the way to express his positive feelings.
His works have been influenced by Picasso, Matisse, Miró, the Expressionism, the Fauves, and the Pop Art, by the Mondrian abstract art, Modigliani and Renoir elegance but also by Haring, Mordillo, Jacovitti, and Cavandoli.
Not less important are the influences from some cartoons he used to watch when he was a child; in particular Barbapapa, Vicky the Viking and the fantastic series Hanna-Barbera and Looney Tunes. Their colourful landscapes, the positive characters’ attitude, irony and playfulness have had a particular influence on Bob’s work.
He appreciates Pollock and among the contemporaries Koons, Murakami, Rizzi and Veneziano.
He defines his art Neo Happy Pop; his paintings are an expression of gaiety.
After spending years traveling through Sardinia and the world, Bob decided to settle in **San Pantaleo**, a small village in the heart of Gallura. Here, he found a balance between the tranquility of local life and the creative energy that fuels his work. At 13 Via Torres, Bob opened his new showroom, a space where he lives and works, immersed in the beauty of the Gallura landscape and surroundings.
His studio is not just an artistic workshop but also a space open to the public, where he exhibits his works and shares his art with visitors and collectors. This new chapter marks a conscious life choice for Bob: a return to his Sardinian roots, but with an international outlook, continuing to create with the same passion that has always characterized his work.
San Pantaleo is now the center of his artistic production, a place rich in inspiration and beauty, where nature and art magically come together.
